Scuba Review

Already certified but haven’t dived for over 6 months? No problem, after a short refresher programme we can get you back safely in the water ready to dive at some of Koh Tao’s most spectacular dive sites. Firstly one of our expert SSI Instructors will run you through a knowledge review to recap on safe diving practices, dive planning and problem management. Then you’ll go over equipment fitting and set up, before jumping into a shallow water session to revisit those essential dive skills you learnt in your initial training. By the end of your scuba review you’ll be feeling comfortable and confident underwater, and ready to join us on a fun dive at one of Koh Tao's amazing dive spots!

Sail Rock Dive Trip

We run Sail Rock trips the same way we approach the rest of diving at Goodtime: smaller groups, experienced staff, and enough flexibility to adapt to conditions instead of forcing the same dive plan every day. Offshore sites demand a bit more awareness than the shallow reefs around Koh Tao. Currents shift. Visibility changes. Marine life moves. Having guides who know the site well makes a difference, especially for divers visiting Sail Rock for the first time. Our groups stay intentionally small so the dives feel calm and manageable underwater. Briefings are detailed without turning into lectures, and the goal is always to help divers feel comfortable enough to actually enjoy the site rather than simply tick it off a list. Sail Rock has a reputation that stretches well beyond Koh Tao. For a lot of divers, this is the site they talk about afterwards. The dive where the water suddenly filled with barracuda. The day a whale shark appeared halfway through the safety stop. Availability: ONLY runs every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

3S Diving Trip

Some dive days are just dive days. The 3S is something else. Departing Mae Haad at 9am, you’ll spend the day exploring three of the Gulf of Thailand’s most iconic dive sites, combining big pelagics, vibrant reefs, dramatic underwater landscapes, and crystal-clear blue water. Southwest Pinnacle kicks things off with towering granite pinnacles covered in spectacular anemone fields, home to giant groupers, schools of trevally and barracuda, with the chance of a whale shark passing through. Shark Island offers a completely different experience, with boulder formations, colourful coral walls, moray eels, triggerfish, and abundant reef life. Sail Rock finishes the day at the Gulf’s most celebrated dive site, famous for its towering pinnacle, chimney swim-through, huge schools of fish, and the region’s best chance of encountering a whale shark. Three unforgettable dives. One epic day. Certified divers only.

SSI Divemaster – Starter Package

Goodtime takes the standard SSI Divemaster curriculum and expands it through areas of real professional diving that prepare a new candidate for the reality of the industry — not just the exam. That means more time in the water, more exposure to actual dive operations, and a closer relationship with the professionals running them. Goodtime recommends at least 8 weeks for the Starter package. While the SSI program can be completed faster, the difference extra time makes to a new professional is significant — you need space to absorb the information and practice the skills properly. The Industry Ready and Career Builder packages run to 10 and 12 weeks respectively. SSI professional active status fees are ฿16,900 and are paid directly to SSI. These are not included in any of Goodtime’s tuition packages. They cover your SSI membership and first year of active professional status.

Rock 1: Top Rope

The Rock 1: Top Rope Rock Climbing course is your gateway to climbing, covering both foundational knowledge and practical skills. Rock 3: Ropes Rescue

The Rock 3: Ropes Rescue climbing course offers an immersive, hands-on learning experience rock climbing in Koh Tao. Throughout the course, you’ll practice vital climbing rescue techniques like swapping belays and hauling climbers. Rock 4: Multi Pitch

Our Rock 4: Multi Pitch level 4 advanced rock climbing course introduces climbers to advanced techniques, focusing on anchor creation, route planning, and climbing efficiency. Over two days, you'll learn the essentials of multi pitch climbing, including communication, belay skills, and transitioning between pitches. Practical sessions will guide you through climbing real level 4 climbing routes, setting anchors, and practising lead climbing. The course culminates in a six-pitch climb, providing the experience and confidence to tackle multi pitch climbs elsewhere. This course is ideal for climbers who want to advance to higher-level climbing and expand their skills for more complex routes.

Rock 5: Traditional Lead Climbing

On this traditional lead climbing course, you’ll spend plenty of time on the rocks, gaining practical experience with real-world climbing scenarios. You’ll learn how to start trad climbing by leading climbs, placing your gear, and building anchors. With a hands-on approach, you’ll gain confidence in trad climbing, and learn to handle gear placement, safety, and communication. By the end of the course, you’ll be equipped with the skills to independently tackle trad climbs and move forward with your level 5 climbing journey.

BSAC Diver Coxswain Assessment

During your Diver Coxswain Assessment, you’ll demonstrate both theoretical and practical seamanship skills under real-world conditions. The session combines oral testing, safety checks, and on-water assessments aboard our custom-built speedboat. You’ll be assessed on: Voyage planning, tides, and weather Boat preparation and safety Handling and maneuvering techniques Anchoring and shot line recovery Approaching a shelving shore Diver drop-off and recovery Man overboard and emergency response Trailer recovery procedures This qualification is MCA-approved and recognized internationally, equivalent to RYA Powerboat Level 2.

BSAC Post Boat Handling Workshop

This workshop is the next step after your BSAC Boat Handling Course — ideal for students who want more hands-on time at the controls before progressing to the Diver Coxswain Assessment. You’ll spend at least five hours behind the helm, refining your handling, navigation, and safety techniques under real sea conditions. During your workshop, you’ll: Build on voyage planning and weather awareness Practice launch and recovery procedures Improve accuracy in high- and low-speed turns Hone diver drop-off and pickup maneuvers Strengthen emergency response and man-overboard skills Increase confidence handling different boat types Taught by BSAC-certified instructors aboard Goodtime’s custom-built speedboat, this workshop helps you reach the proficiency needed for professional-level boat handling and Coxswain certification.

BSAC Boat Handling Course

Most diving on Koh Tao is done from old converted fishing boats, but as we have a custom-built speed boat, we can offer so much more. This is a great qualification to have on your CV, whether you are a regular diver or dive professional or even a non-diver. The BH course is designed to give students with little or no boat handling knowledge or experience, instruction in small boat handling. It covers techniques relevant to diving and related safety knowledge. As there is a maximum of three students per instructor, there’s lots of hands-on action with this course. You’ll feel the thrill of driving a boat at high speed, and face the challenge of conquering new skills and techniques. When you’re not driving yourself, you’ll be practicing new skills as part of the boat crew. The course certifies individuals to helm powerboats up to 10 meters in coastal waters and includes skills and techniques specific for dive boat operations worldwide. The course is MCA (Maritime and Coastguard Agency) approved which is recognized internationally including Australia and is equivalent to RYA Power Boat level 1. The course takes 2 days for the Boat Handling license, with some classroom but mostly hands on, practicing various skills, emergency procedures and voyage planning.
